    • Product description

The Bourton Country Shoe is a piece of Northampton shoemaking history, instantly recognisable by its bold wingtip design, pinked edges and heavy brogue punching. Made on our 4444 last in a 5 width fitting, it has the wide tread, roomy toe box and generous fit associated with Tricker’s country shoes, with most customers dropping down half a size.

Black Hydro Nubuck gives the Bourton a sharper, more contemporary feel while keeping the practicality of a country shoe. The calf leather is gently buffed to create a soft, velvety texture, then treated during tanning so water beads away rather than soaking in, helping it resist wet weather, everyday marks and stains. Its deep matte black tone absorbs light for a dense, uniform finish, with matching black eyelets, black laces and a dark stained welt completing the monochromatic look.

Each pair of Bourton brogues is handmade in our Northampton factory in England by skilled craftspeople using traditional methods, and to the same exacting standards that first established our reputation. Built with a Goodyear storm welt and finished on a British-made Dainite rubber sole, it offers durability, added water resistance, resoling potential and reliable grip without the bulk of a heavier tread.

    Great shoes

"The double leather sole takes a little time to become flexible but the uppers softened up really quickly and I was able to wear them all day long in less than a week. They are beautifully made and I find these particular shoes very versatile. Delivery was very fast and I was kept informed from start to finish. I would definitely recommend and will be purchasing some Stow boots in the future."

    Fantastic shoes

"Bought these in Trickers sale and a few other items. Absolutely delighted with the Bourton Cubana Castorno’s fantastic look and fit great. Normal size UK 11 but went UK 10. 5 and perfect all round. Will be back!!"

    Timothy M. (5/5)

    Excellent fit and superb quality

"Excellent fit and superb quality craftsmanship, as expected. Not the first pair of shoes from Trickers ( 1st was in the late 70’s) and every time perfect!!"

    Mark H. (5/5)

    Dave Ambler West Yorkshire

"Wow, I’ve not seen or had a shoe that comes anywhere near what I have purchased, craftsmanship is second to none. Excellent all round, I’m 63 years young knowing quality as the Bourton Country Shoe is will probably see me out!! Regards Dave Ambler"

    100% British Craft

"These are my third pair of Bourtons been wearing them since the late 90's. Might be deemed in some quarters as unstylish - but not to my eyes. Great build quality by British crafts people in a British factory and these days that is something to value. Trickers are a cut above the other Northamptonshire shoe companies and a notch below going the full custom eg John Lobb. What appears 'expensive' is I think good value for money because I'll get at least ten years minimum from these shoes. Also a good online service - package sent very promptly and securely. Recommended."

    David W. (5/5)

    Love my Bourtons

"I love my Bourtons. This is my sixth pair. They fit my feet so well. From the time I first put them on, they are as comfortable as slippers. Some of my older pairs have Dainite soles which are very durable. These new Vibram soles are fantastic - they make a great shoe even better. I wish Trickers made more Bourtons with the Vibrams. The Vibrams are lighter and make the shoes even more comfortable, particularly for a long day of walking. When you buy them (which I strongly recommend!), remember that the last on the Bourtons means that you need to go down half a size (I’m normally a 9 but I take an 8. 5 in Bourtons)."

    Patrick S. (5/5)

    Very comfortable to walk in

"Very comfortable to walk in and incredibly wearable also during summer. The style is great, but don't trust the colour on the website preview: it's actually much more similar to "acorn antique" hue."

    Jacopo G. (5/5)

    Fab furry footwear

"Like all Bourtons, it's a sturdy well made shoe, despite being a 'rough out' the leather isn't as thick as you would find in an American heritage brand but that's not an issue really, just a heads up. No spare laced though which is a pity."

    Jacob L. (5/5)

    My first Tricker’s. I’m so

"My first Tricker’s. I’m so satisfied and happy."

    Robson F. (5/5)

    Officially my favourite brogues

"My first pair of trickers, and now definitely won’t be my last. Very comfortable straight out the box and no wearing in needed."
